French strikes results in summer of discontent

Summer is peak season for flying and you can expect a little bit of disruption. Summer 2016 has seen more than just a little disruption. Due to labour reforms in France, passengers have been subjected to a summer of discontent.
Over 3,000 flights have been cancelled, resulting in over a million minutes of delays and thousands of disrupted holidays.
The strikes have become a common feature of the French landscape in 2016. The latest strike action, which as seen airlines reduce their operating capacity by 15%, is expected to last for 35 hours.
Airlines, British Airways, easyJet, Ryanair and Aer Lingus have all reported flight cancellations because of French strikes.
The industrial action, which is the 14th strike this year to date, has seen disruption caused all over Europe and the International Air Travel Association has shamed France as the worst offenders when it comes to air traffic controller strikes.
2016 might well be remembered as the year of the air traffic controller strikes.
