EUclaim taken over by Yource: customers' claims will continue

Monday, September 28, 2026

EUclaim, Europe's oldest flight compensation company, is making a fresh start. Less than a month after its bankruptcy, its activities have been taken over by Yource B.V., the Amsterdam-based company behind Flight Delayed and one of the largest flight compensation companies in the world. EUclaim keeps its own name and its own website, existing claims will continue and new claims are being accepted again.

EUclaim restarts after bankruptcy

On Monday 24 August 2026, the District Court of Gelderland, sitting in Arnhem, declared EUclaim bankrupt and appointed a trustee (curator) to administer the estate. Following discussions with the trustee, an agreement was reached for Yource B.V. to take over EUclaim's activities and continue serving its customers. The supervisory judge (rechter-commissaris) has approved the agreement.

"We have been in the same industry as EUclaim for years and have worked with them in the past to keep the airlines on their toes," said Tom van Bokhoven, CEO of Yource. "EUclaim has been through stormy weather, but we are glad to help the company into a new chapter and to build on what they have created."

EUclaim will carry on under its own name. For passengers, the brand they know simply stays.

What happens to the claims of EUclaim customers?

"Starting everything back up takes time, but we want EUclaim's customers to know that they are in good hands and that their claim simply continues," said Van Bokhoven.

The trustee, together with Yource, is contacting all customers with an active claim. This is being done in phases and will continue over the coming weeks. To keep their claim running, customers are asked to place their signature online, in the same way as when they submitted their claim. By doing so, they agree to the terms and conditions and authorise Yource to act on their behalf. Without that signature, the claim cannot be processed any further.

"Nothing changes about the claim itself," Van Bokhoven explained. "We work on a no win, no fee basis. If no compensation is recovered, the customer pays nothing. In practice, customers will notice very little."

Questions about an existing claim?

EUclaim customers who want to know what happens to their claim can find answers to the most frequently asked questions at sign.euclaim.com/app/welcome/faq, including why a new signature is needed and what exactly they are signing.

Open for new claims again

Alongside the existing cases, EUclaim is accepting new claims again through euclaim.nl. The legal network behind the brand is considerably larger than before.

"We work with more than ten law firms in the EU and the United Kingdom. That means we can take on almost any case where there is a right to compensation, including the ones that have to go to court," said Van Bokhoven. "So far, we have helped more than 2 million passengers claim compensation from airlines."

"EUclaim has built up a reputation over all those years, and that is worth protecting," he added. "We want people to find the same trusted name, with even more strength behind it than before."

When are passengers entitled to compensation?

Under European Regulation 261/2004, passengers can generally claim compensation of €250 to €600 per person, depending on the flight distance, when a flight arrives at least three hours late, or when it is cancelled less than fourteen days before departure. The airline must be responsible for the disruption. In cases such as extreme weather or a strike by airport security staff, there is usually no right to compensation.
