Flights cancelled due to strike

Nearly all domestic and European Lufthansa flights have been cancelled. Lufthansa expects only 20 of 1,650 scheduled flights to be operated. A number of long-distance flights that were scheduled to depart from Frankfurt on Sunday were already cancelled; only 6 out of 50 of these types of flights were operated as scheduled. Most long-distance flights departing from Munich and Düsseldorf were also cancelled. Up-to-date flight statuses can be checked on Lufthansa's website.

Reason Lufthansa strike

Lufthansa personnel have gone on strike multiple times, as negotiations over collective agreements and wages continually run aground. Union Verdi is demanding a 5.2-percent pay rise and job security for 33,000 flight attendants and ground staff. Lufthansa is one of the largest airlines in Europe, with a total of 117,00 employees.
