Low cost airline Norwegian is offering transatlantic routes for only 69 Euros for a one way ticket. 38 flights in total will be offered each week.

Last year, the airline announced affordable routes to the US were to be introduced. They were waiting for the expansion of Norwegian’s fleet with a new batch of Boeing 737.

Starting in the summer of 2017, Norwegian will fly from Edinburgh, Belfast, Cork, Shannon and Dublin. The American airports Stewart International, Providence, Rhode Island and Bradley International will be used as departure airports for Norwegian flights. The airline has purposefully chosen smaller airports with lower taxes to maintain a low price.

The Norwegian airline is the biggest low cost airline in Europe, besides Ryanair and easyJet, and they focus mainly on flights from the three main Scandinavian bases: Gardermoen, Copenhagen and Stockholm-Arlanda. Since the introduction of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the airline started offering the cheap flights to the US East Coast. It is now also possible to take advantage of these cheap flights departing from British and Irish airports.
