Air Swiss plane carrying gold and diamonds robbed

A gang of eight armed robbers raided a Swiss Air plane on Monday night. The airplane, that was about to take off from Brussels Airport in Zaventem, was robbed using fully automatic weapons. Several sources report that the diamonds obtained in the robbery have a street value of 50 million euros.diamantenThe robbers are said to have driven through the runway's enclosure with two vehicles. At approximately 20:00, they committed the robbery of the Swiss plane, that was ready to fly to Zurich. 

No shots were fired and no one was hurt; the robbery was over within mere minutes, after which the robbers fled the scene. One of the cars used to flee was found by police officers later that night. Witnesses attested to having seen the armed men switch to a different getaway car at some point during the evening.Secure logistics firm Brink's, who has an onsite location called Diamond & Jewelry Services, was loading the gold and diamonds onto the Swiss Air plane when the men breached the runway's fencing. Sources reported that the 10 kilos of diamonds alone have a street value of 50 million euros.
