Can I be compensated if my flight was overbooked?

Can I claim compensation for denied boarding

Hello Ruggero, for the first time in my life, the airline denied my boarding. When I arrived at the Volotea check-in counter, a company worker told me that unfortunately the flight was full and that I could not board. However, he assured me that my reservation had been changed to another flight two hours later.  Can I be compensated for this denied boarding?

Claim compensation if you've benied denied boarding!

Good morning and thank you for contacting me. It is no coincidence that we have seen an increase in overbooking incidents lately. These situations are becoming more and more frequent. Today, the practice of overbooking is frequently used by airlines that try to optimise the profits of each flight by selling more airline tickets than are actually available on the aircraft.

Fortunately, Regulation EC 261/2004 protects the rights of passengers and in this case Flight-Delayed.co.uk can obtain the compensation which you are entitled to for your denied boarding.

When the airline denies you boarding due to overbooking, we recommend that you request written proof of such incident. This will speed up the process of obtaining compensation.

In addition, in the event of an overbooking, you are entitled to:

  • an alternative flight, free of charge, which the airline must offer you in order for you to reach your final destination;
  • reimbursement of all the  unused tickets (if the airline has not offered you an alternative flight).

Offering an alternative flight or refunding your ticket does not prevent you from receiving compensation of up to £530!

If you want us to start the claiming process for you, all you have to do is submit your delayed flight data in our calculator below. We'll take care of the rest! Once you’ve submitted your claim we will start working on your case and take over all the correspondence with the airline. We will make sure that they pay the compensation you are entitled to. All you have to do is relax and wait for our congratulations email that will be sent once we’ve succeeded with claiming your compensation. It’s only until then than our 25% win fee will apply!
