• Was your TAP Air Portugal flight delayed? If you arrived at your final destination at least 3 hours late, you are most likely entitled to TAP flight compensation.

How much TAP flight compensation can I get for a delayed or cancelled flight?

The exact value of your compensation according to UK261/EU261 depends on the distance of your flight.

• For all flights of 1,500 kilometres or less, the compensation is £220 per passenger.
• For all flights between 1,500 and 3,500 kilometres, the compensation is £350 per passenger.
• For all flights of over 3,500 kilometres within the EU, the compensation is also £350 per passenger.

For all flights of over 3,500 kilometres outside of the EU, the compensation is £520 per passenger — however, if your flight was delayed by fewer than 4 hours, the total amount can be reduced by 50%.

Can I claim flight compensation if I’m flying outside of the EU with TAP Air Portugal?

The British and European air passenger rights regulations protect you also when you are flying to a non-European country, such as the United States.

Because TAP Air Portugal is a European airline, both inbound and outbound flights to non-EU destinations are covered by the regulations.

It would be different if you would be flying with a non-European airline, such as United or Delta. In these circumstances, only your flight from the UK/Europe would be covered. See the table below for more information.
