Brussels Airlines on strike from Monday — get compensation for your cancelled flight

At least part of the Brussels Airlines crew, including pilots, will hold a 24-hour strike starting on Monday, the 20th of December, at 5 am local time. Passengers affected by strike-related flight cancellations are eligible for ticket refunds and compensation of up to £520.

The strike was announced on Wednesday, the 15th of December, by three unions representing the Brussels Airlines crew: SETCa/BBTK, CNE/ACV-Puls, and ACLVB/CGSLB. The unions say that the workers have been treated badly in the last few months and that the airline is not respecting the agreements signed in early 2021.

The Brussels Airline strike will likely cause many flight cancellations on Monday. Thankfully, due to the European regulations in place, passengers whose flights were cancelled will be able to claim:

  1. A full monetary ticket refund (we highly recommend not to accept travel vouchers instead of a refund)

  2. Flight compensation of up to £520
