Strikes: possible delays on flights to Rome and Milan

<p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" src="/uploads/2015/9/rome-milan-strike.jpg" style="width: 640px; height: 388px;" /></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>l&rsquo;Union Sindacale di base, a national Italian union, has called for the cessation. All aviation personnel, including cargo and traffic staff, will be going on strike. Italian employees are already referring to tomorrow, June 22nd, as &lsquo;black Friday&rsquo;. The strike is targeted against recent anti social government measures. Longer work days, salary cuts and an overall reduction of worker&#39;s rights are decisions the Italian employees oppose. The aviation personnel will be on strike against privatization, leading to possible delays on flights to Rome and Milan.</strong></p> <h2 style="text-align: justify;">Delays on flights to Rome and Milan</h2> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">After aviation personnel strikes in Germany, France and Portugal, there will now be strikes in Italy, tomorrow and on the 5th, 6th and 18th of July. Aviation personnel will cease work on Milano Linate and Milano Malpensa and both will be 24-hour strikes. Meridiana Fly and Flightcare Italia staff will also be on strike during announced periods of time, also leading to possible delays on flights to and from Rome.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Be aware that long flight delays and cancellations will be a result of these strikes. For actual flight data, please check with your airline to make sure you will be flying on time.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Train, subway, cargo traffic</strong><br /> Unfortunately, the strike will not only affect air traffic, as railway, subway and bus personnel and supporting services will also go on 24-hour strikes. And to make matters worse, cargo traffic will also cease between July 8th and July 13th, for a total of 120 hours.&nbsp;Please avoid travelling by car&nbsp;to Italy&nbsp;from the 8th until the&nbsp;13th, as there will be major&nbsp;delays on the road on those dates.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">If you are travelling from, to or within Italy, please keep track of all strikes; it will have major effects on all forms of transport.</p> <h2 style="text-align: justify;">Data of strikes in air traffic</h2> <ul> <li style="text-align: justify;">June 22: strike of airport personnel on Milano Linate and Milano Malpensa (24-hour strike)</li> <li style="text-align: justify;">June 22: 24-hour strike&nbsp;of airport personnel of Meridiana Fly, except for flight from and to the region of Emilia Romagna.
